GT have the frames made and then ship them out to stockist. The problem with Tek tanks is there prices haven't been updated for years that's why the prices are massively different. When i wanted a tank lid it was nearly double the cost compared to on the website and guess who they had to go to get it.....Yes GT. In 2013 when i wanted the pro range i shopped around and was tempted to get a TekTank by the time i had it made it was going to cost the same as a crash tested system from Grippatank so i went back to Grippatank and ordered my system in 2014 and had it fitted. Its just a simple case of old prices i am guessing.
So if grippa reduced its price to meet or come close to the retail price direct from the manufacturer.........would grippa's reputation suffer.....would they loose sales....would anything trully suffer other than the profit margin and at what difference??Ie silly maths,,but say instead of £100 per unit it became £80 per unit. In wk one the old price used to sell at 1 a wk =£100. But with new price they are selling 2 a week = £160.Sometimes less can be more....
Just like there will always be customers who will pay 20 quid for a terrace house to be cleaned when they could get it done for half that or less. Grippa will always appeal to the guys with plenty of money and not much in the way of d.I.y skills or frugality. The clever guys amongst us would aim to be grippa from a selling point with our services but the cheapskate with our purchases.
Prices do look steep don't they. The question begs are they actualy crash tested for that price?https://www.grippatank.co.uk/shop-by-industry/water-tanks/grippapro-fully-welded-tank-frames
