Red,

I would say you need to try the newspaper adverts to see what response you get.

In one paper I used I was lucky if a receievd a call a week, yet same ad different paper different area, gets at least one call a day, today it was four.

I cannot explain this, but out of all the things I've tried it works.

there must be something very wrong with my leaflets because they bring no-where near the work some of you are talking about. How often do you change the design of your leaflets?
it`s the same here i have had leaflets through my door from miles away, this is the first year this has happened,i wouldn`t mind but they are offering carpets cleaned for crazy prices,12.50 a carpet, whole house for 65.00 etc.i know they will do a crap job and i will be called in next time but that doesn`t help me now. :'(

Ian

I did say that I have 'never' put out leaflets so my client base has been built up over time.

The essence of my business is to let my cutomers do the selling for me this is achieved by, as Uncle Ken would call it the 'Kitchen Sink Marketing' technique. I was using this system naturally for years as was Ken before he came up with his wonderful and meaningful description

By doing this any loss of clients through moving, retirement or even death in some cases are constantly being replaced by my customers referals...far easier and cheaper than paying for and delivering flyers ... UGH....Now that's hard work

Work smarter not harder...don't know where the phrase originated from but I fully endorse it

There are a lot more cleaning companies out there these days and there is therefore going to be a diminishing market so you have to be good and seen to be good
