Why do you all get on your high horses, always trying to defend what your doing and bigging up how good a thing it is??
If was that great you really wouldnt care what doubters think? I know i wouldnt if was me.
You all seem to easily bite at the slightest thing.

I'd bite if I needed to convince myself.

Hi Mick,
I franchise, I don't bite or care anymore. I realized about a year or so ago that you don't have to let other people affect how you feel. I keep my head down and keep on building. I am more of a CIU spectator nowadays.

Ian's hissy fit was nothing more than a crafty piece of self promotion, look at his list of superhuman franchisees
all doing so much better thanks to his good self.
Just because you think somebody is a mug for paying a glorified canvasser a percentage of their earnings and signing away the right to work independently in that area for evermore, while at the same time using their van. hard work and expense to help promote/advertise and improve that persons franchise business/reputation doesn't mean you consider the person an idiot or the franchiser a rip off merchant.
The franchiser is offering a service which is perfectly legal and above board and the franchisee is a mug for not realising that its
not hard to do the same thing on your own,

So why do all the rest of you have to get on your high horses and knock the the franchises at every oportunity??

If it is not for you.... fine...
if it is for you.... fine.....
It is a form of business, and everyone runs their business the way it works best for them....

Maybe Ian and the others feel that what they do could benefit some window lickers..... after all... not everyone can knock a door...

Maybe they are just blowing their own trumpets... It is what most on here do.......

why on earth do you feel the need to create an "us and them" situation?

I am not a franchiser... nor a franchisee, just someone who is offering their own opinion on the matter....
and yes I know it is not wanted....  :P :P     ;D

Everyday this forum slips further from God.  :'(

Franchising is just a different way of expanding. In general it's a smaller margin for less effort, if it's suitable for everyone involved I don't see the problem.

There's a few on here that don't seem to be doing all that well at window cleaning and seem to dislike anyone that is doing well. The people that attack the franchisors' are often the same people that attack anyone that seems to be doing well. It's just a defect in their characters.

That bullying at school over being a window cleaners son really damaged you, nobody cares how well off or how well anybody
is doing on this forum some just like to wind up insecure people such as yourself.
Discussing the pros and conns of franchising both from the franchiser and franchisees point of view is no different than
discussing any other subject.
Now get over yourself and learn that being a window cleaner is nothing to be ashamed about even if your not out to build/run an empire and making more money than God.
Like I already said Ian's hissy fit was nothing more than crafty piece of self promotion

This pretty much sums it up for me. I'm not cut out to be an employer and I realised this. The responsibilities of the franchisor are minimal in comparison to an employer. I'm more than happy to take a lesser %.

Let's flip this argument towards employers for a moment. How much % profit do they have in their pocket through employing window cleaning staff? A great deal more than a franchisor but nobody slates them saying they're ripping off the employee and that only a muppet would want to be an employed window cleaner.

There many types of peeps on this forum  with a complex about been no one, and don`t contribute positively to any  information. Finding instead to pull everyone down to a level below their own so they feel and look good.  There is also the chaps to did not find education a helpful input in their lives so, reject  everything that might sound anything like helpful  education. They don`t like anyone to know better than themselves. After all we are just dumb window cleaners the lowest of the low.
Well, I have got news for these short sighted complex souls .
Window cleaning will progress and more money will come into this industry and attract smarter chaps so get over your complex self. Learn for the smart contributors within the industry before  you become the dinosaurs of window cleaning  industry. If this has upset  it might just be doing you some good.

I dunno slap - there's still quite a few dinosaurs knocking about with ladders on their old cars. They go their merry way and I don't think "smarter chaps" coming into the market is going to affect them.
It's a game of three halves!

What I don't like on forums is crafty product links on users footers that they get away with as if they use them then should pay for advertising like others have to do. "I was just responding to other posts honest guv"....yeah right  ;D ;D

Just for the record I have no issues if people want to look at going down the franchise route as it’s a proven business model for a long term residual income for the franchisor. However what I do have concerns about is how a franchise aggreement is worded as explained in another post to what franchisees can/can't do regards to services they may like to offer at the time or in the furture as their business expands.

It's a bit like "can I have fries with that" Nope I'm not allowed to sell you any  ;D ;D
