Flow controller P5
« on: August 19, 2016, 08:36:34 pm »
Hi all ,

So I was trying a higher flow today and put the controller up from 40 to 60 . It said P5 , any who , I tried to calibrate the controller as I last did it in the winter.
After following Ian's video on YouTube, when pressing the enter and it shows 'c 99 ' it kept saying 'err' .
Set the controller to 30 as in video , it ended up being calibrated at 'c 22' . Where have I gone wrong.....  ???

P5 or PS?
If PS then the pressure switch has kicked in.

Maybe it was PS , couldn't calibrate it though with the 'err' message

What pump are you using?

It won't seem to calibrate when my pole is fully extended like it say in Ian's video , just keeps saying 'err'

I think you also need to have water flowing as well as the pole extended

That might explain it , it was happening when the tap was closed

You've got the pressure set too high then. The pressure switch has kicked in on the pump when the controller should be cutting it out. Back the pressure dial down a bit and make sure there is no air in the system.

Next time you calibrate your pump open the pole valve or whatever you use and let the pump run for five minutes to get any air out of the reel first.

Phone Pure Freedom and ask them.
The calibration is not set right, they will talk you over it in 2 mins, they did me some time ago.

Thanks all , sorted now , the problem was not having my tap open and water flowing whilst I was calibrating- lesson learned! 👍

Is that your helicopter Ian?

I started a business flying celebs by helicopter - never took off really.
Then I got into hot air ballooning  but that never got off the ground.

Hi Dave That is the Kate Chivers of Kent, Sussex and Surrey air ambulance. She is based at Marden in Kent. Long Story short my Brother in law was involved in a serious road accident in March 2012. With out the air ambulance its is very doubtful he would have survived. I leave the image there in honour of all the HEMS around the UK who make such a difference to people.

As for me Unless im in a nice big plane I like to keep my feet on the ground as much as possible :-)

I have worked with our air ambulance several times in my other job , definately lifesavers .........all run on donations , no government funding!

These HEMS do a fantastic job KSSAA have to raise around £5 million a year as do all the other HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Service). The KSS air ambulance was in action yesterday at Camber alongside the Coastguard helicopter.
