Cheers , sounds like the  Slx 22 - (27ft reach )is the popular one 👍

You don't want to be using a 30ft SLX for everyday work, get yourself a SLX22 and keep the CLX 27 for the higher stuff,
If your getting a lot of work requiring a 30ft pole then An Xtreme is the only option as the SLX is horrible at that height.

Quote
Like Sean says, If you only need it a couple of times keep your CLX27 for these jobs, SLX30 is too big and heavy for an every day pole, go for the SLX22.

Sorry fellas but this'll is absolute bull. All 5 of us use SLX30's all day every day. We don't possess anything shorter. Easy to handle, light enough to use continually for 8 hours daily and fit in a small van no problem.
I used slx 25 for 18 months and thought it a great all round pole (still like it). After buying a slx 22 I much prefer it because it is notably shorter collapsed, I don't notice a weight difference.

Thing is you won't know how much easier the 22 is unless you try one.

To be honest I do think it was wrong of me to say the SLX30 is a horrendous pole as you wont get a better 30ft pole
for the money.
For occasional use it will more than do the job at those heights but for a pole that your going to be working with day long
you want to be looking at something lighter and more rigid.
Get a SLX22 for your everyday pole and keep the CLX27 for the occasional higher clean, if you find your getting a lot more
higher awkward work then replace the CLX27 with an Xtreme.

If money is no object just buy the best pole in every size gardiners do. Then you can speed all day just looking inside yer van thinking how great they look. Not to mention then deciding which brush works best for what  ;D

Everyone has their personal choice what they like to use depending on the type of work they do which is most suited to the job in hand.

22.

Collapsed length makes more of a difference than you would think.

I would probably buy a 30 ft and remove sections or cut down the clx depending on its age / condition to make a compact pole. Imo an 18 -22 ft pole does not require it to be super light and difference between an slx and clx at that length is negligible  in use tbh. A lighter and longer pole is going to future proof your round and any higher work you are bound to pick up. Sod using the clx 27 for the higher work that just sounds backwards.

Tbh I don't want to be messing around taking sections off and putting them on , I just want to open the van and grab a pole and crack on .
As I don't have a lot of high work , maybe one 3 storey and a couple of conservatorys that I need to fully extend the clx 27 but apart from that I don't see the point in carrying a long pole for all work . I thought I'd have one smaller lighter pole and one long pole for the occasional use

One of the franchisees actually works with 35ft Slx all day every day as he ordered the wrong pole when replacing his old one. He loves it, as he no longer has to break out the 40ft supermax to get to certain skylights on his round.

I'm looking for a lighter smaller pole to reduce fatigue , iv changed to a lighter brush and it's made a massive difference, as well as upping the flow which has made a massive difference in speed. I know with weightlifting for years that over time , my joints etc aren't the same as when I was 21 . So if I can do the same work now with a lighter pole , it will reduce wear and tear of me and my joints later on in life

I'm with you Shrek - been using a CLX 18 for 98% + of my work and a CLX 27 for the rest.
Tried a mates SLX 18 the other day... way more rigid and virtually no whip! Sold me on 'em but Gardiners website said 'out of stock'.

Can't see the point in waving about  ;) (custie comment) the extra weight of a 22 over an 18 if not needed for most jobs.

its a good ider it have 3 poles in the van i have
slx 22
47ft supermax
ill be geting a 35ft pole as well soon
it all depends on your round realy for me a 22 is perfect size i do have the odd job that need a bit longer so i use my super max 47 for them so makes sence to have a in between pole  i dont like braking poles down as u then no longer have the protected base section incase of a electric shock form a wire above  ;D

Here's my bull for what it's worth  ;D
I would recommend at least a couple of poles, purely to carry on working if you snap a section.
I understand why people add and subtract sections relevant rto each job, but feel this is wasting time.
There is no write or wrong but I use an extreme 22 (very carefully) as my everyday with a 30 slx in the  van for higher stuff.
While I could just use the 30, I really wouldn't want to.

It takes me inside of 20 seconds to add or remove sections to my supermax, with exceeds gimmicky tubeless set up. Such a faff that I am thinking of spending up to 3 times more money than I need to in order to clean a window with the right length pole. Jeez  I'm such an idiot, what was I thinking  ::)roll  ;D

the best answer is whats your work like ??? if you do a lot of three story houses and are lazy and cant be bother the change poles a lot then you best off going for the 25 this will save you loads of time walking back and forth changing to you bigger pole to do sky lights ect ect

but if you mostly on two story houses and maybe only do a few three story a week then a 22 is best

we run
25s on two vans as daily poles
22 on one van as he never does any three story work
30 on the other as that's all higher stuff

exactly.

a 22 ft pole is just too short for some of my work(esp awkward angle windows over extensions/connys).a 25ft is ideal for me with an xtreme 47 for higher stuff.

both the slx and xtremes are great poles.i just prefer the lighter, more rigid xtreme as a day to day standard pole.
price higher/work harder!

If where you work looks like legoland, all estates etc then it's different to rural work where each house is unique with different requirements. I couldn't get away without using 30' for everyday work and a 50' for panels or velux for barn conversions.
