I've just received emails pretending to be from you, but dodgy addresses.

(I've altered the link, just in case anyone's daft enough to try clicking on it ;D)

Maybe their emails and contact lists have been compromised?

I know Richys email has been compromised because i'm in his address book and i've had spam from it. Richies comes from yahoo if i'm not mistaken ?

I've also had a few other spams from peoples addresses who i've been in contact with from here. They usually have Yahoo addresses and i guess its the yahoo servers that have been compromised.

Hi  Ian.

Thanks for letting me know.

Not been on here for awhile.

My
Email is yahoo, as mentioned as Richard's

Don't mean to sound silly (but I am 😁)

What do I do regards my email.

Get onto bt?

Do have firewall etc, internet security.

What did the email from me say?

Had one from my accountant (supposedly)
A couple of years ago asking me to wire him some money to Africa as he'd been robbed  ;D

I copied and pasted it straight from my inbox.  The message is as it appeared except that I changed a couple of characters in the web link to stop numpties clicking on it and infecting their computers  ;D

Probably pure coincidence but I noticed in the 'from' address:  roycegracie.  Roy Grace is the central character in the Brighton police series of novels by Peter James

It's scary how these emails work!! We had our bank account hacked a few years ago and they said they got my details from an email!! To this day I don't know how because any suspicious email is deleted (and was then) without even opening it!!
