Ideally need to make 2000 per day, was thinking of buying the Gardiner PRF RO.

Thats what the gate valve is for, adjusting the pure to waste ratio

Obviously less waste = more pure but you get a higher TDS which means more resin usage...same visa versa
Its a case of finding a balance that works for you but yes you can reduce the amount of waste

I saw the thread about you moving to your unit, did you not fancy trying the tap on waste idea spruce mentioned?
I've got a mate with a merlin (boosted) and he gets good TDS figures, waste amount  is pretty big though.

I replaced the membranes on the Merlin two months ago and already the TDS on them has risen from about 19 to 34. I've had it for 5 years and it really is time to upgrade. It was used when I got it. The output volume is good though. About 5 hours I guess to fill a tank, but it;'s tearing through resin.  Input is 290 tds btw.
