So based in doncaster.
A potential client came and asked for a price for windows. I quoted 15.  She said she had been given a price yesterday of 10 could i match it or lower 15. Told her no, best get the other chap. As it happens he couldnt reschedule till 2 wks time and she really wanted windows done today. So she phoned hubby n ten mins later came saw me (cleaning neighbours) and said ok.
Whilst cleaning was talking about all my services and now ive turned a 15quid job into an 140pound job.

Have you got paid yet ? for a start I wouldn't trust a person who asked if you could beat a £10 quote on a property

Sadly i agree. But in this particular area there are lads still charging 5 quid on trad work, and dispite how the house looks its not a well off area. I would love to charge min of 20 for this one, 10 mins and the job is done. So im still happy with 15.


Price is relevant to so many factors, as many of these threads have shown. Even tho i price to the area, i am still pricing at least 50 to 70% more than the local competition and still selling up. Hence the thread price with confidence. Regardless of the geographical area in where anyone works, you can still price acordingly.

Not really Shrek, when you hear people talk about wfp being quicker those windows in the above pictures are the ones they're
talking about.
You could easily get that property done in around 10 to 15mins after a first clean, now if every window had one or two openers above a fixed pane below then you could double or treble the time to get them right depending on the trouble they cause.

Price seems good considering the area, see lads do these for less than a tenner everyday. I would have quoted £12 on that  15 on a good day if it was out of my way.

I was cleaning a similar property yesterday for a tenner (no conny) when next door asked me how much. I said a tenner, he sucker air in thru his teeth and said Ive just had mine done this morning and wondered if u were cheaper. I said how much does he charge?  Well he wanted £11 but no way Im paying that so I got him down to 9. He then said would you be able to do mine for 8? .I said no sorry. He said why not your already doing next door's.  I said yes that's sound logic I could do yours for 8 and it wouldn't take me long at all but I don't negotiate on prices other wise it just becomes a race to the bottom.  Also next door will want theirs doing for 8, then word will get round the street and everyone will want it doing for 8. Then before you know it im earnning less money for more work. He looked quite bemused i had given him such a long detailed answer and He huffed off. Seriously trying to save a quid by switching windy why

My minimum is £10 , no matter what , no matter who . Not bothered if I get turned down as I would resent doing it otherwise and then dump in the end . Some custys need to realise it's 2016 not 2006

That's some money for a property like that, just think 30 of those properties could easily be done in two days giving a weekly
turnover of £1050 or if my maths is correct your could have a turnover of £44100 a year for just working 84 days.
Not joking if that was the kind of gold to be earned cleaning windows in my area you wouldn't be able to swing a cat without
hitting a window cleaner. lol.

People have a choice to "price confidently" with the aim to only take on well paid work or the other option is to work yer arse off all day long for the same amount or less. I know which one I would rather do out of choice.

No matter what services you offer there will be others that will offer to do it cheaper and some potential customers that want it done for next to nothing too. However there are probably more potentials that don't mind paying more so don't be in the mindset to go in cheap just to win work as that is where many go wrong. As the saying goes "If you win every job you quote then you should stop and think are too cheap"

The amount of times I've gone in what I think is a really high price because I don't really want the job for one reason or another trying to put them off and still won the work is starting to do my head in. Maybe I'm still too cheap who knows ?

I believe price can reflect the area you work.
while some say they want £15 and others want £35 I really believe it depends what part of the uk your in.

I just had a quick look on right move a house like that in Doncaster looks to be around £250k that same home in Hertfordshire where I"m from is £450k upwards depending on what part of Herfordshire so its all relevant.

Both areas if you price confidently,do a good job,are presentable and likeable a good price can be achieved.

personally id charge £20 for that property (8 weekly) but charge what you want for the job.

i have quite a few like these all compact.i easily clean 2 an hour so £40 an hour,sometimes £50 an hour.

Even tho its not at the higher end which i would prefer, its still 3 times more than my competitors.   Theres the confidence!!
