one of my customers has asked and to be honest im not 100% sure.
is there a height restriction on using ladders?

And what is the guideline from health and safety ,do u have to have them footed or tied? Or is that not correct?

Local health and safety officer told a trad cleaner here up to 18 feet should always be fixed using some sort of fixing wedged at bottom ,anti slip equipment ect .above must be footed or tied top and bottom

I don't use ladders above 2 storey height anymore and will only use ladders as a last resort now with safety devices fitted as in example pic. Both ladder safety devices fitted to that ladder have been independantly tested and approved by H&S unlike so say many other so called ladder safety devices you can buy that are not. 

Customers are also impressed with that setup and that I take H&S seriously when using ladders especially on potentially slippery surfaces like pavers, decks etc.
