The problem with asking questions like this is that you will get numerous replies (if your're lucky) mentioning all different kinds of products. This is because people like different things and something which works well for someone may not work at all for someone else.
Most cleaners, after a few years have a range of different items on their van, usually from different manufacturers.
By all means buy something which is recommended but in the end use the products that give you the results you require. You'll waste some money in the short term but we've all been there.

A small group of carpet cleaners came together recently and started testing a few different pre-sprays and aparently the best one they found was craftex champion, it removed (food, drink, shoe polish, ash and dirty cooking oil) in there tests so after hearing that i think i will give it a try.

Myself i use alltec, citrus pre-spray, works well for me but its all iv ever used

I use a lot of chemicals from the Craftex range. On Saturday I was cleaning a large engineering office carpet that was laiden with dirt first I used their miraculas Champion on the one half of the carpet mixed 20 to 1 then changed to their micro splitter mixed 5 to 1 and misted on. Both chemicals were scrubbed in using a rotary with a clear water rinse the end result was, the micro splitter came out on top it removed all the stains and heavy soiling leaving the carpet looking much brigther.
