Which in your opinion are the best hozelock connectors?

I need to replace a couple of my female plastic aquastop connectors since they are getting worn & I'm having problems getting the metal connector on the pole hose in & out. One connector (on my van mounted hose reel) is the orange & black one from Pure Freedom, the other is a Claber connector attached to my Gardiner's v3 backpack and neither of them seem to have lasted that long....

The main thing to look after is the o ring on the male, replace this and use a smear of silicone grease to prevent leaks.

Best female connectors I've used is Gardena they also come with a locking mechanism to prevent accidental pull/blow off

The brass ones I bought from screwfix 18months ago(ish) are still going strong on both reels

B&Q's own brand- The budget ones which are Blue and £1 each. These are the best I've used.

I've found Gardena ones to be very good.
I've found the quickest way to destroy the inside of any of them though is to use metal male connectors. As soon as the end of them gets damaged they scratch up the inside surface of the female part making them leak. I only use plastic male parts and this make the female counterparts last much longer. I also replace the  'O' rings regularly and put a smear of silicon grease on them.

Asdas own the chunky green and black ones. Still using the ones I bought last spring iv stocked up on some more as they don't stock all year there seasonal.

Bought some from wilkinson few years back with rubberised coating. Felt real nice. Within a short space of time exposed to the elements the rubberised coating turned all sticky. Were horrible to even touch. Had to throw them all away including the spares I'd bought.

Thanks all for your comments.  M&C what you say above definitely makes sense since the male connectors I use are metal. I might upgrade the female connectors to metal also.
