That awkward moment, you start getting your kit out to do a conservatory roof/gutter clean and the window cleaner turns up! 😂😂😂

I assumed they never did roofs, he approached the property muttering oh have we lost this one (or something along those lines) to who I have no idea. Got chatting and it turns out they DO clean conservatory roofs.  :o

No idea why the customer decided to call me?  ;D

I have one where the lady has a trad guy do the fronts but she has a conny at the back and no access to the upstairs for a trad wc. She didn't want to cancel the other guy and I didn't want her to either as he is a pal of mine. So she has two window cleaners. He does the front and I do the upstairs at the back and the conny roof when she wants it done.  We did two like this for time but one has now died sadly.

I get quite often people say to me "we had it done last time by our window cleaner but to be honest he did not do a very good job "    ;D

I was asked by a customers mother to clean their con roof and fascias. Whilst i was pricing it up, asked her if wanted a quote for windows on a regular basis. She told me she had a regular window cleaner and so in a nice way asked why she got me as ive come out my way for this (only because ive done daughters for last 14 yrs n a good customer). The answer was simple, she knew ive done daughters several times and she was satisfied (no jokes lads) but also i had profesional equipment, in her words to do it and trusted me to do so. So guessing has cowboys or chaffs cleaning windows

But another option, most likely option sometimes as this has also happened to me. A customer got someone else to do gutters/fascia because they charged a silly low price for doing so, compared to my quote. The house was small n at the time my price plan for my area, was £25 per side. This house had 3 sides, so 75. They charged 25 for job lot...

It helps if you've got the right equipment to impress the ladies for sure  ;)

However I blew gutter clearing quote today as was wearing me hard hat as you do whilst doing a gutter cam survey.
Anyway was chatting to the potential customer explaining why I wear a hard hat as I'm a bit of a head banger. No soon as I'm mentioned about its virtues she turned and started to lead me around the back of the property and promptly smacked her head quit hard on a hanging basket.

I could not hold in my laughter so peed myself laughing out loud. Then after composing myself asked in a concerning way was she OK. Needless to say the quote went downhill after that as she did not see what was quite so funny. Oops!  ;D ;D

Don't think it also helped much when I said afterwards you now see why I wear a hard hat  :D

I hate doing conny and gutter cleans. Way too much like hard work. I nearly always hand them over to Dan the Man to do unless it's an easy access all round conny roof clean. Even then I'll pass it over if it's close enough to the areas he does.
It's a game of three halves!

Out of the two give me gutter clearing all day long as most consevatory roof cleans I get to do are awkward PITA jobs.
Not only that there is way more potential money to be made clearing gutters than conservatory roofs.

Saw a local windy yesterday 3 floors up stretching across an open bay to clean a sash window,I've had many chats with him about switching in the last 10 years yet he refuses to change.no wonder people think window cleaners are happy go lucky chaps.

Yes but Thomas Sanderson applies a valet guard which means you never need to get it cleaned again including the glass, its more a long term investment.
Like you say there will always be the exceptions to the rule but being rich or poor has nothing to do with it.

One of my customers has previously used them and it cost her £700 in&out for one of the smallest conservatories on my round.

I charge her £60 for externals annually now and she's over the moon
