I must be missing something here I have used the aqua adapter good piece of kit but you can tell it's on the end of the pole these univalves do the exact same thing and you can't tell it's on the pole so what's the aqua do better than the uni

Nothing,

We all at some point get to a stage where we are comfortable with our equipment, technique, rounds, and when something new comes along its not accepted because we ourselves believe we have the perfect setup and solution already.

I junked my ad's a long time ago, although good, the Constant Spring breakages, excessive wear to the no.1 clamp on gardiners poles and non compatibility with Carbon goosenecks were becoming a pain, the aquatap solved the breakages problem and wear, however long term they have their own issues, causing wear just behind the clamp, a bit like the ordinal gardiners clamps, the univalve, as far as I can see has all the great assets of ad's but none of the drawbacks, lighter, easier to use, compatible with everything.

I use an slx with goose neck and Gardiner pole hose and works fine.  I didn't get the aqua for my pole with goose neck because it was gonna cost me quite a bit to fit one these uni s are only thirty quid all in

one draw back is you cant turn your water down and use it as a tap which we like saves having controllers or walking back to the van to turn water down for just one window , some of us work out so we don't need the lightest of everything

The ad was never made/designed to adjust flow, it is either on or off, unless you got a mis fire when pulling and it stuck half way, the aqua tap is designed for that and can be adjusted on the glass from minimal flow to full in less than quarter of a turn,

What saving you getting by fiddling with ad manually to slow the flow then extend your pole with water flowing ? Seems like no saving at all 😳

Some of us work out using our brains..... 😜

a couple of things I have come across are if you are using  all seasons hose with hot water and ex-ceed quick release pole hose when you pull to operate the spring is so strong its difficult to operate .and the other thing I have found with the quick release is if you don't have a good pole hose you can not push the pole hose on to the fitting.so I binned the all season hose.
