Anyone got the Stingray kit yet?
« on: March 10, 2016, 10:48:05 am »
Has anyone bought a stingray internal window cleaning kit yet?
Have you  had the chance to use it?
Are you  impressed?

Thanks  in advance

Its just another pad system that sprays some water into the centre of the pad, just another pile of overpriced rubbish
similar to the Dragonfly kit that I was stupid enough to buy.
Unger have really lost the plot while trying to get into the wfp cleaning from the ground market, just one bad idea after another.

Miles better than the normal unger pad system. Compared to dragon fly. No idea.

Do a few commercials and third time round the glass is too easy to clean now. Spray. Buff. Go.

Thanks  in advance

The Dragonfly is just a pad system that sprays a mist of cleaning solution or pure onto the glass you then buff it off,
the problem was you where paying around £350 for the privilege when all you needed to do was spray a small amount of
the same stuff onto the pad before putting on the glass using a spay bottle at a few quid.
This is just another nonsense product that does the same for around £230 now if you like using pads for interiors then I cant see
why you wont like this, I liked the Dragonfly until I realised the above. :-[ ;D

I have some work to do on a job, now we have a situation were we can't have water on the floor at all, so I was looking at both the above.

I was also thinking like Sean as if I had a wfp with a trigger on it, and modify to fit the pads, I would pretty much be there.

Is there any reasons why this wouldn't work.

The Stingray is a great tool for commercial window cleaners that have a lot of internal glass to clean.
Not so good for the guy cleaning houses windows..

No reason at all Matty, but the thing is it doesn't matter if you spray the solution/water onto the glass and wet the pad
by rubbing it over the wet glass or you just wet the pad the end result is the same.
Just spray the pad before putting on the glass but as with all pad systems the trick is to not get it too wet.

Keep it simple guys, if you have a Stingray or a Dragonfly even though i would agree with seanK the price range on both is just a rip off.  But instead of using microfiber glass mop pads which really are not very effective on glass as you can't clean tight into edges and corners, so use good quality microfiber glass cloths instead which are more effective in both cost and results. Why, well when you are using microfiber glass cleaning cloths which will be larger in size than microfiber glass mop pads it means you can utilize the cloth more as one part gets soiled you can step the mop frame back to another clean part of the cloth and then another and of course you can then turn the cloth around and duplicate the same action on the other clean side of the cloth.  Do the maths on the cost of one  good quality microfiber glass cleaning cloth which can do the work of 6 to 8 microfiber glass mop pads if you think about it. I would rather spend that kind of money on a hoar than buy an unger stingray pile of poop.
At least I would die on the job with a smile on my face  ;D

Terry, if I were you I would try some of the glass cleaning  cloths that Tadgh sells, I haven't found anything better for cleaning internal glass and mirrors, cheers Dave. ;)
