Hi guys just a bit of advice, when putting a tank into a van does it have to be bolted down to the chassis or can you just strap it down , someone said to me if its strapped down and I have a accident I won't be covered , what do you guys think

Do you have a frame for it or are you just strapping the tank down ?

Firstly, why don't you ask your insurance company - they will advise if you are or are not insured.
Depending on the vehicle, size of tank, shape of tank and where you want it in the back will depend if strapping is good enough or not.
For example - 1000 litre upright perched over the rear wheels would not be good strapped ( or bolted really )
A 400 upright against the bulkhead could be strapped safely.
Layflats upto 500 are OK strapped in

I never found it easy securing a wydale tank with just straps. Buy a custom made one ( not as expensive as you may think, I used Aquaeous and has the advantage of being properly baffled ). A bespoke tank to your design can prevent movement by its dimensions following the foot print of your van e.g. snugly placed between wheel arches and bulkhead and designed in such a way to make strapping it down far easier.
