Paper diary for me.  Have you ever tried to stick a post it note to your phone?

Tried on online one synced between phone, iPad, computer etc but found it to be more trouble than its worth.  Would be different if I had to co-ordinate two or more people but for just me, paper wins.

Hi
I have iPhone,iPad ,laptop and 4 desktops at the office,.

You guessed it still use a diary lol

Collins leadership flavour of choice at the minute.

Find all electronics to slow to input details and contacts in. Did have a software once called 'to do matrix'
It worked great on my Blackberry bold , but when I deserted to iPhone it wasn't supported.

Great thing it had if an email or call came it had what they called injectors. So a lead could be moved into a to do list in the app at the push of a button. No clicking or pasting.

So it's back to hard copy till I find something as good.

Cheers
John

I still use a page a day diary. I am a little surprised not one person so far uses a phone or tablet. Interesting post though.

A competitor, but good friend was always good to watch when taking a booking.

Whilst scrabbling for a pen he would then write brief notes on his hand so that once he'd finished the phone call he could then transfer the details (or what he could remember) into the phone's diary. :o

He seemed a little surprised that he sometimes forgot bookings and/or what he was supposed to be doing on the job.

He kept all his customer's details on his phone as well. :o :o

He usually managed to lose at least one phone a year. :o :o :o

Without backing it up. :o :o :o :o

Rog

PS I find that looking at a diary and seeing the different amount of space left in the diary always helped me visualise the size and complexity of the job as well as at a glance being able to see at a glance the geographical spread of the day's jobs.

Does everybodies diary last the full year before falling apart? I usually get to November before the cover comes away (even though I put it in a diary case)

This year I'm using an academic diary which runs from August to August so half the dairy is last year which is unused which I will use these pages  for talking notes and jotting down stuff.

Until a programme with built in voice recognition software becomes available we will continue using hand written dairies. It takes to long to Open an app or programme and manually type in data.

Imagine if I could speak into my phone......."Monday 24th, 9:30am Mrs smith, 23 high st.  London hu39bd 3pc suite & living room". Then it was automatically typed into my diary

And then I could just be In The van and say "next job" and the details come up on  the sat nav screen,  then plots the course to the job

that would  be really cool 8)

Hi Guys

Yes proper diary here too.

Cover lasts anything from 6-9 months apart from one year when I put the diary on top of the van whilst speaking to someone, forgot and drove off.

Luckily wasn't going far when I realised and went back where my  newish  diary was in the gutter having  been run over. Kept it going all year as a reminder not to be so stupid.

Cheers

Doug
