Hi Robin thanks for the reply.

I'am looking to remote like the Airflex storm way.

Do you know whether the remote on the storm just turn on/off the vac's ?

Richard

I think so. It is also an external device.

Slight hijack,  is it too much of a surge to switch on 2 vacs and a pump all at once via remote?

I used one with my jag but that's 1 vac and a pump, and 1 vac on the other cord

The reason the remote controls are not mounted in the machine is mainly because u will usually be in closer range to the wall socket , so if the machine is left out side and u are i  the house upstairs it may be better to be remote switching at the plug in point and not outside the door ..or even in the van .
You could mount the maplin module u linked to inside the express , but its probably easier to just get a wall remote .
If u are remote switching every thing on the one cord , ie both your vacs and pump there may be a startup surge that will fry the wall remote receiver , so a soft start module inline is a safer option .

this is the one i use ...
http://uk.farnell.com/united-automation/ssc-25/control-module-softstart/dp/1213104

Although i have mine mounted inside the machine ... simplest thing would be to make a short ( one foot ) like a small extension cord , have the plug one end , have the abovesoft start module down from that just dangling ( well covered in tape or in a little electrical box .... and on the end a trailing socket to plug your machine into .
The wall remote would plug into the house wall socket and then plug in your little soft start extension lead to that .

I have 2 hd electros and a pump running off one cord (too much I know) however I use the switch in the house to turn the whole machine on and off constantly. This has never tripped anything  out or blown a fuse.

yeah , it probably wont even trip , although if u have say an inline heater and an airmover on the same circuit the startup may trip it then . But its hard enough to trip breakers .
Not sure what the start up surge will do to a wall remote ,  so carpet2clean ... really u could just try buying one of these cheap maplin remotes and seeing if it works alright without the soft start if u like .
i just like to have it inline to be sure .

Press off and second vac goes off press off again and pump and first vac go off

Sean a bit not that way.
First button switches motor 1 only, second motor 2 and pump.
If you dont press the first button as first and second istead then only pump starts. If you press the first one then when pump works then both engines starts at once what is not good as can trip the fuse.
