what do you guys use for managing your business on the move?
« on: December 17, 2015, 07:54:13 am »
I saw few posts about people using PDAs for using softwares such as awaka/George.

Anyone uses IPAD/tablets?

I'm thinking getting a samsung tablet for managing my window cleaning business.

Occasionally I take a print-out with me and tick them off/make notes on the day - then update on the computer when I get home.
Often I don't even do that as I can remember what jobs are to be done - sometimes a quick confirmation of what's due is needed before I leave in the morning.

iPad Air with a 4G sim.

I use the Aworka app on it - but can easily login to the full version if I really need to while on the go.

CP on Iphone and also a diary. I find the app very poor on iphone but useful for the debt list. My diary is handy 'cos I can flick back six weeks an it gives me the same jobs that are due today. 80% of my daily work is from memory.
I could access the full programme I suppose on my Samsung tablet if I can get an internet connection.

That's insane! When I was paper based I found I lost customers through bad admin.

Same as that, 8 Weekly. Well, not so much loosing customers, but loosing money through not keeping on top of outstanding debts.  Yep, I've deliberated over this for far too long; it's time for a laptop!

That would be a recipe for a disaster!

Oh yeah, I forgot about debts. Without a proper system I had a hard job being certain on debts.

Can you use a spreadsheet?

That's all I use and it's spot on, as long as you know how to manipulate it.

I have been considering a spreadsheet, Tosh.  Apparently, my son in law is an absolute wiz. I may just lean somewhat upon that man's good nature this Christmas.

I thought you were on George.
