Slowly going to start subbing some jobs out as i'm starting to struggle doing it all myself.

Have a few people in mind i can trust to do a good job. What sort of % of each job goes to the cleaner?

Oh yeah, its all domestic work.

If it's a straightforward subbing out where they provide the equipment etc.. 70% to the cleaner 30% to you

Sounds about right, thanks. Guess 60 - 40 might be pushing it

You could go 60/40 there will be some variation in the split depending on the amount and quality of the work on offer and if they are collecting the cash and giving you your override or you still collect.

Sub 25k - yeah no problem I've got a spare day a week to knock that off

When I subbed work from someone else (me supplying van, tools, water etc.), I got 60% of the take.  Any bad debts/lost customers were the other guy's loss.  It felt tight some days but reasonably OK on others - depending on the work type.  It did get a bit easier once I knew my way around - that bit is very important because there can be a fair bit of down time while learning the round.
It helped that the other guy tended to price a bit higher than me too, something I learned from when the arrangement eventually ended.
75% would have been more like it but I'm not complaining.  It was extra work at a time when I needed it.

When I started w/c I subbed from another windy on a 25/75 split. Last year I took just under half of my work subbed it for the last 14 months but I only charge 15%. Works OK  I get a couple of hundred every month and he has built on it - he does OK and I'm happy and still "own" it..

I think long term I will rent my round out rather than retire. If I can pull say a grand a month indefinitely that's got to be better than say a lump sum of say £20/25K.

I would say 25% is about right on a normal business situation (not family). If you take any more than that I reckon the guy will not look after it well or drop it quickly when he has built up his own work.
