Can't make my mind up, the new extreme 25 or six 25, there's not enough saving to go for the old extreme,  question is can I justify the extra £200 for the new extreme.  This is a pole which would be used probably about 1 hour per day and I do take care of my poles.

as in
go for the slx as only wimps need an extreme at that length plus being used for an hour a day is going to be a waste of 200 notes unless you want to be flash with ya cash for no good reason.

me too,
I have used a supermax 40  for the last 5 years ( well used daily and looked after ) sections removed when not needed, been tubeless style for last 18 months has  done away with the need for more than one pole.
Not against spending out on an extreme but I would be buying the longest lightest pole I need to cover all work and taking sections off when it needs replacing but reckon its another 2 years life left yet, from what I read here I doubt you'd get the same from an extreme.

thats it ^^^ a 18 or 22 is idel size easy to use as its liter shorter ect off topic but i have 2 poles a 47ft a 22ft i wouldent wana b messing about swaping sections ect sod that lol or even using a super max 47 all day . im thinking the same tho slx or extreme cant deside i think the slx will b  stronger ie take more abuse but the extreme will b liter nce to use ive felt a 25ft extreme  and i rember thinking whoa thats lite i even thault it was a 18ft pole till i saw it was 25ft lol

I would hazard a guess the biggest reason being that the SLX 18 is over 400 grams lighter than an SLX 25 =  a lot less risk of RSI

Definition of abuse when using pole my old SLX i hardly ever cleaned it and it probably became worn a lot quicker within 2 1/2 years ,

My Xtreme 22 i clean once a week or if after working in the rain , once i get home i strip it down wipe down sections and let them dry out overnight in the garage then reassemble the next day .

I wonder what makes an Extreme so much more expensive? Can't be that much more carbon in it surely?

Love my Extremes but an eighteen foot SLX makes a very good every day pole. I can't see any point in Extremes in the shorter lengths.

Slx 25 still gets used weekly on a few jobs and it is always good to carry a spare pole.

when i replace my 47ft ill probly get a 63ft and a 35ft to go along side my 22ft for my round 3 poles would b idel i think alot depends on ur round tho most of my work i can get away with a 22ft pole

My poles consists of 18 clx, 27 clx,  47 extreme, 65 swift. My only regret is the swift, only in name, it was bought before I found gardiner

i use an slx22 and slx39 that rarely comes out however ive been toying bout getting an extreme but i dont think it would last long if i treated it like my slx as that gets some abuse and its still solid and mint, i decided to take the 22 end pole off so it was like an 18 and it felt really nice with the lightness and the thinner diameter pole, i was using it with a supreme but didnt think to try it with an extreme brush as it could have been really light however i kept having to put the 22 back on to reach alot of windows so im back to thinking  about an extreme and the reliabilty of them compared to slx, i have just fitted an xline brush on the end too which has been nice to use and not much more weight than an supreme if any!

I have the slx22 which I have taken a section off, so now about 18 foot. I also have an extreme 25 with extreme brushes.
I bought the extreme because I have tennis elbow and it's quite painful and naturally the extreme is very light to use.
Which would I buy if I had neither...
It depends on your round. For awkward windows above connies and for working at length, the Extreme is amazing. Also, forget how big and strong you are, with an Extreme and extreme brushes you will be much quicker. If you're big and strong, you'll be superman speed!!!
Because of my elbows I would ideally like a round of bungalows to wfp because it's less stressful on the shoulders (i'm 51). In that case I would use the slx 18. Closed shorter length, it feels more durable and I can use a radius sill brush on the end (my favourite brush).
So for an average round which would i buy, no contest, spend the extra money and get the Extreme.

if modded well, sections can be added or removed in less than 30 seconds, compare the minimum faff of that against the cost of 3 carbon fiber poles to just clean a pane of glass.

I would use the 25 on the front and a worker would use the 35 on the back. Due to the back having velux Windows and the front are dormas.
