Only for football - my local team's ground bears their name :)
Unusually for this sort of advertising, I think this is one that might just be worthwhile.  I say this because, in spite of all the advances in recent years, window cleaning still has that "dodgy character" image in some people's minds.  Being in a vetted directory (rather than something like Yellow Pages), would probably carry a lot of weight for potential customers who have trust issues.

They do with most new areas they target. I got it free for the first year while they were establishing themselves in the area

i think window cleaning only is not worth £600 a year.
they will be calling you from anywhere,  not in the areas you do.

only one or two.

if you offer other services maybe

I've just joined up free for a year. They're distributing 50'000 booklets in my area 3 times in 10 months. There will only be two trades the same in each publication and only 120 in each book! At the end of the free year I'll decide if its brought me the work in to buy a membership for the year after!

Does your business go in the booklet too?  When I enquired, it was about £500 on top of the £700 I was already paying  :(

I like the bit "Not obtain work through cold calling"  ;D
Checkatrade members agree to:
Be honest in all dealings with you
Tell you about any call-out fees before coming to you
Let you know straight away if they can’t do the work
Keep appointments and arrive on time (calling in advance if they need to reschedule)
Be realistic about when they can start work and how long it will take
Be courteous. Treat you, your property and belongings with respect
Keep you in the picture about all aspects of the work
Return phone messages promptly
Create an additional contract for variations from the original agreement
Deal with complaints promptly and professionally
Never demand cash payment
Never be verbally or physically abusive or threatening to a customer in any way
Not obtain work through cold calling

Checkatrade members will give you a feedback card up front. After they have finished the work, send it in to let the public know how they did. If you prefer, give your feedback online.
