Products for Cleaning Karndean
« on: November 18, 2015, 11:32:08 am »
Hi
We have a Karndean floor to clean after the builders have left substantial areas covered in plaster.   We suggested a strip and polish but as the Karndean chemicals are very expensive we are unsure which alternative chemicals we could use  - can anyone please advise?

Thanks
Fiona

I would use the ones Karndean recommend  or you could end up voiding the warranty for the sake of saving a few quid.  Why aren't the builders paying?

Hi Kevin

Thanks for the reply - I was asking as I don't like paying extra just for a name!  Don't worry the builders will be paying :-)

Hi Fiona, i am with you on having to pay extra just for a brand name, we have a concentrate product called NuFloor diluted at 30-1 will cost less than £0.40 to produce a 1000ml ready to use spray bottle.
safe and effective and an ideal product for cleaning Karndean flooring, for removing plaster film after the builder just pre spray the 30-1 cleaning solution onto the floor and allow two minutes dwell time, then just flat mop the floor with microfiber floor cloths, if the plaster film is really dried in we can supply you with micro-cleaning mop pads which will easily remove any ingrained plaster film.
If you would like any further information Fiona, you can email info@jskcleaning.ie  regards  Tadgh

I would go with Kevin's advice and use Karndean's own, I understand the cost issue, but just add it on to the bill, in my experience people are always looking for someone to blame if something goes wrong, may not have any issues with what you used, more than likely the builders, but you can guarantee they will use that against you, I personally don't think its worth the risk

Hi Billy, just to share when using NuFloor there is no risk to any type of flooring, its actually safer and more effective than Karndeans's own floor cleaning solutions, not trying to be big headed here but your giving me ideas about approaching them now.

Tadgh,

there is no risk using some other brands if you know what your doing, but that doesn't matter, if you don't use whats on their list then you run a high risk of getting blame and avoiding warranty,

why not approach them, you'll be on the list then, i'm sure it would cost a few £££ to be on there though
