is this cover essential,  or can we survive without it,   with an extra £20.

If you have an accident and someone starts playing the "wasn't my fault" game........you wouldn't want to be without it.

Well you just never know if the worst happens and someone puts a claim in against you for injury etc.
Legal advice isn't cheap but £20 is.

Totally worth it last claim non fault guy pulled out on us didn't even look .

Phoned A-Plan then DAS who sort out the legal side took care of everything hardly had to do a thing after providing details of the accident .

Can't believe that you're questioning a £20.00 cost depends how much your can and system are worth surely worth more than £20.00 .

God forbid if someone died or was seriously injured with life changing injuries then ask yourself for the sake of 20 squid would you want to pick up the legal costs as could run into thousands of pounds?

Like any insurance policy you are thinking of taking out it's always very prudent to read exactly what you are covered for.

I always pay for legal cover, but apparently it's pointless. I always thought that if you had an accident that was your claim to instructing your own brief. But this is not the case.

You need to be careful with this whole legal cover with a lot of I insurance companies it only covers you if it's not your fault, so it's not as straightforward as they make out.

Legal expenses: Optional legal expenses can be worth considering if as an insured van driver you are involved in an accident that is the fault of another driver as a standard insurance policy may not cover your losses. You can then pursue compensation from the third party for loss or damage to your insured van, damage to your personal property such as laptops or mobile phones and death or personal injury to yourself or your passenger. Also it will cover you for any other uninsured loss as a result of the accident, such as the recovery of your policy excess.
