Xtreme expert so daz looking to buy an Xtreme i typically use 22 ft daily but need a 25ft for town houses .

The pole i own is a stripped down S-Max 40 so i just add and remove sections as and when needed is it possible to do this with an Xtreme or could i just buy a Xtreme 22 and add a section off my old pole to clean the town houses .

Reason for the change is left shoulder aches most days now so wanting something lighter , using supreme brushes now instead of Xtreme brushes hasn't helped but totally stuck on supremes now .

Any advice pointers form yourself and anyone else would be appreciated , Only 40 got a good few years to go yet .  ;D

Mike I cant see the weight difference between the two brushes make a difference at the lengths your talking about
plus I get the feeling your an over scrubber going by the fact you couldn't get on with the xtreme brush.
Over scrubbing or putting too much pressure on the brush was my problem when starting out and was nearly calling it a day because of the pain I was getting in my shoulder.
With the xtreme brush you tend not to do this as it doesn't have enough bristles to push too hard and the stock would be hitting the frame.
I now let the weight of the pole do the work and have found I get very little bother from my shoulder and the windows are
every bit as clean, what I mean by that is I'm getting no complaints and referral's.

yeah you could just add a section off your old pole mate no problem.

i use the 25 xtreme all the time as i regularly use the full length most days.saves going back to the van to add a section.

i use the slx 22 some days and it really does feel like a lead pole compared to the xtreme 25! ;D
price higher/work harder!

i use supreme brushes too.their easier to clean the sills and frames properly than the xtremes.

although i do switch to the xtreme brushes on 4 weekly properties with lots of awkward angle windows or if im tiring towards the end of a busy week.their also good for f/s/g jobs that are high and awkward(less strain).

xtreme brush and xtreme pole is the lightest way to work for sure.much less strain than using the slx/supermax poles over the course of a day/week/month/year/decades! ;D

Cheers for the input lads looks like an Xtreme 22 with an Xtreme brush I'm only 5ft so a 22 is an everyday pole to me .

My current pole is starting to feel like a lead weight , A mate of mine just bought a brodex alloy 25ft and that defo is a lead weight .

Personally Mike I would also look at dumping some of the more awkward jobs and replacing with handier, I know its
hard to do this especially if they are loyal good paying customers but this also helped me.

Sean  I don't have any awkward jobs it's just been the strain on my shoulder .

Townhouses not an issue as I don't have loads , But just the variation of cleaning over connys etc classed as the norm .

Is taking its toll had issues for months now never been to see anyone about it maybe it's time now .

Ditto to that.

Extreme brushes are useless on frames really, and they definitely can't clean sills very well. You also run a higher risk of scratching sills with an extreme as the stock is pointy and easy to scrape along a sill.

Extremes are great for very clean windows and glass only. Not much else. (Except brushing teeth mayb).

I get on pretty well on 8 weekly cleans with them. I tend to use a supreme on first cleans or a sill brush.

Your xtreme review makes very little sense simply because many window cleaners use them successfully daily
and if what you said where true this wouldn't be the case.
You should be asking yourself the question why cant I get the same benefit from these light brushes what I'm I doing wrong.

If anything I'd say the majority of wfp window cleaners out there are rubbish so in that case I'm happy to be different. 😉

i now only use extreme poles which for me gives all the same benefits of a lighter brush, But with the added ability of actually being able to clean a window to a very high standard. If you think you can properly clean a window sill on a second or third floor window with an extreme brush then your deluding yourself.

Well until my customers tell me otherwise I will happily stay deluded and stick with my xtreme brush.

So my old S-Max section 6 wont fit onto to my new Xtreme 22 to make it up to a 25ft pole as and when needed so I've had to buy an extension only wished i had know before hand could have saved about £50 .

I thought they would have fitted tbh, extreme 22 is a 5th section and you are just fitting a 6th section?

Been using extremes since release day. People are only just starting to cotton on now! I was signing their praises back in 2011

We have just replaced all our poles so have 6 new extremes. The new ones with metal collars are fab tbh!

It does make me laugh when people say there's no point in using an extreme 18, as the difference between that and an slx is minimal and you wont notice difference. Usually they are the CLX owners and never even used an extreme.

Damo my S-max was an old one had Over 2 yrs it was only 2mm or so from going on .

I emailed Gardiners after placing my order today for an Xtreme section and they advised that a Slx section 6 would fit

They must have altered sizes a little to accommodate the extra width on Xtreme clamping area

Why ? at 18ft your not going to be using it at awkward angles over extensions and so on where a light rigid pole earns its
cost, it just wouldn't be long enough.
The fact that it can only be clamped at certain points is also a minus point for lower work and yes the weight difference is
minimal at that height.
Nobody is saying the xtreme isn't a better pole but it certainly isn't needed or worth the extra money for 18ft work.

Just bought a few 22's and a 25.

I use a 22 as my standard pole now.

I find the bigger base handle is more comfortable to hold.
