Am due to have a look, and perhaps a test patch, on a porcelain tile floor tomorrow. This would be the first we've worked on, and we'll stop short of grinding.

Pitfalls? Difficulties? Tips?

Your looking for

1.  Transit wax if recently laid
2.  Repeat above for Grout Haze
3.  Crappy applied sealers
4.  Surfactant residue.

Turned out to be big glazed tiles, with slightly low grout collecting dirt. We're quoting to go every month, or every other month, and just clean the grout (hands & knees job with a hand brush & cloths).

Rotary machine and soft to medium brush will take minutes. Lot quicker

Hi Max, you could also use a grout brush with long handle and microfiber floor cloths, save you having to go on your hands and knees if you are going to do it manually every month, if the grout lines are getting that soiled over a month they must be mopping the floor a few times a day probably with string cotton mops which are one of the most useless tools used within the cleaning industry, if its going to be a handy earner every month its best to say nothing, but there is a solution to stop this problem happening for your customer if it helps i can introduce you to a mopping system which can solve this problem.  Tadgh

Rotary would mean masking up very fancy units, also it's quite a long hose run, plus size of tiles (maybe 500mm square) means length of grout lines per sq metre low - maybe not hands & knees, but manual, no machines, would be quicker.

Fair enough, don't  forget we carry a full range of grout and deck brushes, microfiber pads and cloths, flat mopping systems if you need any more supplies.  The wax iron and wax will be with you this morning as well to have a play

Yes Max you are right manual on that would be much quicker for you when you are doing it monthly, happy cleaning, Tadgh
