Pre filter help and advise
« on: September 20, 2015, 05:48:26 pm »
Hey. I have a 300 gpd system. At the minute running 3 x 10" pre filters

What would be the advantaged/disadvantages to changing all of them to 20"?

Which brands do you recommend

Thanks

It'd be pointless for the size R.O you're running

They let more water flow to the membrane (amongst a few other things) which you need for a 40/40

They may last longer inbetween changes on your current 300gpd but I'm only speculating...

If you're looking for a faster production rate, than add another 150gpd membrane to make it a 450gpd or buy a 4040/merlin

Leave the pre filter and upgrade you 3x 100 liter membranes to 3 x 150 liter membranes this would produce more product water dramatically. If this is what you have in the RO.

Change over to Fiberdyne carbon block prefilter. Service life of 38000 liters for 10" housing. At 3 to 1 waste to pure ratio would produce 9500 liters of pure.
