Customers who become canvassers

Do my head in. Always some friend up the road in a house no other cleaner would touch with a barge pole. Usually sourced for you by an underpriced customer too so they expect you to match it. I don't want any more work!

Then when they get you a new customer they expect a discount off theirs for getting you new custom like theyve done us a massive favour!

It's easy to say that but when you've got underpriced customers who've been with you from the start....it's a different story, I price jobs accordingly now but my very first customer who opened the door to me when I first went canvassing is way underpriced as I didn't have a clue how to price jobs up

If you are just honest with them, and explain you were a little green back then I am sure they wouldn't mind a price rise.    I always start by saying " I really don't want to lose your custom but . . . .

So, why make the same mistake again, you price to your current rate, not what you priced up umpteen years ago, if they don't like it they can find someone else, if they say you only charge my friend/neighbour £xx the simple answer is, that correct, I priced that up several years ago and they are due for a price increase so very soon they will be paying the same.

Iv not made the same mistake, I just haven't increased their price yet
