Over the years I've acquired various things off customers, bought a car, bought a 20 year old tortoise (real one), been given a rabbit & hutch, Children's toys for my daughter etc. Yesterday I was cleaning a house when the elderly chap next door asked me to clean his windows which I agreed to do. Down the side of his house he had a pair of old wheels with tyres on, I asked him what they were off? He said they were from a WW2 Spitfire aeroplane, showed me pictures of them on the aircraft and said he didn't want them no more. Did a deal with him and drove around all afternoon with them in the back of the van, now in my garden as a feature. Anyone else had anything interesting from customers on your travels?  :)

I hope you got the pics too or at least a copy of them.
Just wondering now the story behind how he came about having such rare items as a pair of spitfire wheels

Yes got pics and he also gave me all the numbers and markings off the tyres and wheels that he had written down. The story was that he had bought them off a chap about 20 years ago who had found them in some local woodland.  ???

No spitfire wheels I'm afraid.
Three pairs of speakers, one nice pair of Wharfdales. Couple of old model boats that I restored and sold on. An aquarium, various plants. Oh and my current work vehicle that I've now had for nearly ten years and is still going strong.
A pal of mine though was given a complete conservatory.  Customer was was having a new one installed and he asked what the guy was doing with the old one. Guy says if you want it you can have it. So he did. It was in excellent condition and still looks good now, years later. It's not a small one either.

I was given a bag of peanuts from a 87 year old woman.   After I had eaten a few I mentioned they had a strange tang, and she replied that she didn't like peanuts and she only bought them to suck the chocolate off  ;D

I was once paid in Sainsbury's voucher - back before they used Nectar points.
It suited us both.  He had no money on him and I sometimes shop there anyway.

Had a friend who had the same thing happen but with Brazil nuts. It's cringeworthy!

Similarly I got paid once with a £5 coin. It was a commemorative coin but legal tender I believe. I'd never seen one before. I've probably still got it somewhere.

Talking of Monopoly money, I got caught out with a really bad duff fiver some years ago. In my defence ( and it's not much of a defence) it was twilight when I was collecting, but I must have been half asleep because when I got home and realised what I'd been stuck with... Well it was embarrassing to say the least. Looked like it had been printed on a computer printer. Judging by the state of it it looked like a few people had been caught.
