Gg4 in pure??
« on: August 29, 2015, 06:31:55 pm »
You fellas using gg4 in wfp, how's it going? Are you still finding good results?
I tried to find the older posts for dosing ratios but couldn't find it     ::)roll

Still using it. 10ml to 100l of pure.
Seems to work well and leave a good shine - but could be my imagination ;D

I had probs with mine in bright sunshine using 2ml per 100lts.  The soap suds dried on the glass and it looked awful.  Mind you the frames were gleaming.
Now using 1 ml per 100lts and had no probs.
Its something that I will constantly use now that I have tried it.

Come on guys us shiners have a bad enough reputation for being boneheads unfit to do anything else
please don't give the general population another reason to believe this to be true.
Think about it, there are guys including myself using this and similar products  for traditional work in higher concentrations, do you not think we would find it hard to compete if pure on its own didn't get the glass and frames to the same standard.
I cleaned the odd leaky window with gg4 this week frames and all using traditional methods, there was no difference in them and
the windows I cleaned with the pole and pure and there was a lot more solution in the water than 2ml per 100lts.

I think ones for hard and ones for soft water, but to answer your question yes both will have the same effect as will
every other cleaning product on the market when you add a drop the size of the head of a pin to a litre of water.

The difference is I don't claim any benefits. It seems to flow better than pure alone, seems to give a better shine. I have no scientific proof it's better than pure alone (I can prove it lowers surface tension) but I'm happy with it.

What has claiming benefits got to do with being perceived as being too stupid to do anything else ? and if it gives a better
shine then why aren't the traditional guys who use it in stronger quantities not getting better results than pure water users.
Plus with the quantity you are putting in the water it will make no difference to the surface tension as the majority of the
pure wont have any GG4 in it anyway.
This all basic stuff and anybody who thinks that any product diluted to these levels will have any effect, well to be honest
what can you say. ::)roll

I no longer use vision or any chemicals ,
firstly , I found that it was my technique which was causing spotting and I wasn't rinsing properly
Secondly, the customer couldn't care less if they'r frames are shiny for half an hour

Thirdly, 2 bottles of vision free to good home

I only wish I could say I was sorry Rigsby but for the sake of our profession this type of nonsense needs nipped in the bud.
It getting to the stage now where window cleaning is no longer seen as the job for the village idiot lets keep it that way.
Use it by all means but don't broadcast it.

Guys GG4 has a tds reading if enough of it is added to the water, so what does that tell you ?
It tells you that it can be mixed and dissolved into the water which is what its designed to do and whatever is in the mixture
shows up on a tds meter.
Now what else shows up on a tds meter ? answer unfiltered tap water.
So what are you doing to both the tap water and the additive to get the tds down to zero parts per million.
Answer removing the dissolved substances/solids in each case so that there is not enough left to show up on the tds meter.
So what do you have in both cases ? the answer is purified water.
Think about that guys.
