Just wondering if any of you install so say gutter guards like the hedgehog gutter brush.

Myself I think they are rubbish and don't really work. I’ve taken out loads whilst unblocking downspouts and gutters and customers don't want them put back in due to the added cost.

However I do get customers from time to time that still want me to install them even after explaining they don't really work.
I have one hedgehog gutter brush install to do shortly today so was just wondering what would you charge?

It's not impossble to clean them again  if you're not scared of ladders that is 

I charged 100 squid to fit 8m of hedgehog on the front top of a 3 bed detached 2 storey as they supplied parts so was just labour only.  Took approx 30 mins to do but mind you it did have guttering around the upper bay window so was a bit tricky to do...Sharp intake of breath and shaking yer head whilst pricing it up as you do . I have also pointed out it will cost alot more to check & clear their guttering in future with that crap in it now as I will be wanting danger money to do it .

Every job has a price so I don't turn easy money down like that as long as I can work safely which my ladder setup allows me to do in most cases.

I hope it's not as bad as you say as yesterday I removed gutter netting at my own house that I installed and replaced with hedgehog, the netting doesn't really work either but at least the HH is easier to remove and replace. I've fitted loads of netting for customers, it's not easy. Don't think there's any good way of preventing leaves staying in gutters, but it always provides additional work clearing out.

The hedgehog stuff weighs a tonne if clogged up with damp moss. It's a filthy job too, so yes price them well.

The idea of HH is so stuff can so say blow away in the wind. It will upto a point but will eventualy get clogged up and stop the guttering from working altogether like most other gutter guards.

Like you say the only good thing to be said about HH is that is a easy to install as is just stuffed into the guttering then clipped into place every so often with simple HH plastic clips that just push onto the outside of the gutter to stop it being blown out in high winds.

What comes out now stays out as I don't waste my time on them unless they pay me a fourtune to do it which most when they see the state of them don't want it put back anyway.

The plastic poope is just as bad.

So that's another good reason why cleaners should look in the guttering before giving a price as a guttervac is not going to do bugger all if gutter guards are fitted

The best bit you can charge alot extra for taking it out too so is win win
