Depends on your budget I was lucky in May I got some Merrell  Goretex hiking boots for £75:00 feet have been bone dry despite not really looking after them .

They will be to chuck in the bin by the end of next month as the soles are fairly worn down , I'll have to try and find another well priced pair as they're usually £125

I've tried proper hiking boots in the past and found for what they cost they aren't worth the money. Soles vary in grip and wear very fast.
Brashers were lethal in the wet and poor on ladders, soles wore smooth in no time.

£30-40 Karrimors feet don't stay dry but they last about the same as £100 boots a few months worn everyday .

That's the thing, they aren#'t designed for hard surfaces really.

bergaus GTX light explorer goretex boots are the best IMO.expensive yes but they keep your feet bone dry and they last around 18 months worn every day before they start leaking in water.very comfortable too from the very first time you wear them.

i never look after them.i just wear them every day for work.thats it.

Yes, went through three pairs of them and used to recommend them on here but I got fed up with them leaking in the end. Don't know what happens - either the Goretex breaks down or the soles come away from the uppers I suppose.

ive never not had a pair of bergaus boots that havent lasted me  at least 18 months dave before they start to leak.at say £100-£120 a pair i think thats not bad going.

i could go through 3 or 4 pairs of the crap karrimor boots in that time and have wet feet on wet days still!
