Waterproof boots time again.
« on: August 23, 2015, 06:45:15 pm »
Worked in torrential rain today and my trusty boots leaked like a sieve     http://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-titanium-safety-boots-tan-size-9/25461

So, before I drive to my nearest Screwfix - what else can you recommend - I've gone through just about everything now. They all leak in the end.

Hey Dave,
Get back to screw fix and buy some Site waterproof boots about  £25, you'll get at least 6 months out of them for about a third of the money!

I've never had the need to use chest waders myself as drainage issues are normally not that bad.
Mind you I've had one or two booties over the years  ;D

Horses for courses.
Damp to wet weather good quality safety boot. The best thing for leather is a product called neatsfoot oil. Apply with a small paint brush. The leather will take what it needs and any excess you can wipe off.
It will keep the upper   supple and makes it highly water resistant.
. If it's persistantly pouring down then wellingtons are the only option with waterproofs.
The more you spend on boots the better you get.

My North Face ones have been great, but they've just bitten the dust. I've just ordered some of these  8)
I'm tired of the dull brown, grey, black efforts, like a bit of colour  ;D Also, decent make, I'll see if they're up to coping with the beautiful British summer  ::)roll

Do they have flashing lights as well?

Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.
