People's views on this van
« on: July 11, 2015, 06:34:17 pm »
http://www.m4sales.co.uk/peugeot-expert-professional-hdi-swb-van-l1h1-90ps-in-wiltshire-4266814

It will primarily be a one man van, but may sometimes be two people. Immediately it would get a 650 litre tank. Is this model Expert ok? I reckon this one's slightly pricey at this price btw.

Not sure about that van, but he's been on Ebay for ages and doesn't seem to sell any on there judging by his feedback...  ???

I'm really just asking about the particular model. It's quite a big van dealer in Swindon and seem ok to me. The van's a bit pricey, but they have said they'll do it for £6,700.

I have the 1.6 Dispatch which is the same van, I cant say anything bad about it and it will take a 650ltr tank no problem.
Plenty of power even with a full tank of water, easy on fuel and it will turn on a sixpence.
Plus it will fit into a garage if you have one which is handy in the minus temps.

6,700 plus the VAT is a big hit on your cash flow if you're not vat registered too.

You have not got the hang of selling big items on ebay have you Dave?

You pay the tenner to list it........
Once it has sold, or just about to sell... remove it... No 10% fees...
Or..

When the winning bidder turns up with the dosh.. you say to him that you will knock a certain amount off the price if they let you cancel the transaction with ebay......

No 10% fees...

Let's face it 10% of £6500 is quite a hefty fee to Pay. If you offer £200 discount to the buyer.. He is very rarely going to say no....

So lack of feedback does not always mean lack of sales..

Here endeth the money saving lesson for this sunday...  ;D ;D

Thanks Hector.

I didn't know that. I often wondered why vehicles suddenly disappeared toward the end of the auction and bids cancelled. It's happened to me on more than one occasion. 10% is a lot when looking at vehicle sales.

As you can tell,  I have never sold anything on Ebay.

That one is £11,600. Plus I'm not sure you'd get a 650 litre tank and a Little Giant ladder in there. I take your point mind you, but I'm looking to buy cash  so around £6k (the one I put up as an example isn't the one I'd buy) is more affordable and less likely to annoy me when it picks up the odd dink.  ;)

if your not vat registered then yes, but the van you put up is plus vat too
it has the same payload as expert so will carry the same,

you get a lot more for your money buying new,

4 years old 74k on the clock vs brand new 0 miles 3 years breakdown cover and warrent  warrenty no mot's for 3 years etc and the doblo is a better van

this one is under 9 grand brand new £8700

I also think that's priced a bit high, remember that's 4 years old at 7k ( £8400 with vat ) it's top heavy, he's priced that with 30,000 miles on the clock not 70 odd.

I wouldn't want to give £5500 inc vat for it mate, ur paying nearly new with no manufactures warranty what so ever

I got my trafic van off renault dealer I do work for  the rrp was £8000 plus vat and that was with just under  30000 on clock 3 years old and a 2 year extended warranty, I shook hand at cost price with them which was a lot less than rrp.
Warranty is important mate, especially for me as I cover a lot of miles

I know that one's pricey, that's why I have said so three times already, but I have seen one with slightly lower mileage & no VAT. I was just asking what people's experience is with the van which has the height for the ladder I want it to carry. It's also about half the price of the Scudo:

http://www.tadleytrade.co.uk/van/22509-citroen-dispatch-l1h1-1000-kg-hdi-twin-side-doors-no-vat-5650

Tha VAT is an issue in that I will have to go VAT registered in the next few months and so WILL get it back, but in the short term I am buying cash and would rather not have to find it.

Slightly off topic mate but what are you doing re VAT reg? Flat rate 12%? Increasing your prices ?

Thanks
Tom

I don`t think it packs enough punch to a 650 litre tank of water.

All new work in last 6 months is priced with the flat rate in mind and old work I am increasing  on an ongoing basis. I doubt I will mention it to most customers. That's how I see it right now anyway. I went limited in April so was able to defer it as the slate gets wiped and I started again from zero.
