Back to window cleaning!
« on: July 05, 2015, 01:06:53 pm »
After nearly two weeks of working on the same roof clean which cost me more time and money than planned I'm getting back to the windows.
And good riddance to the tight arse sneaky customer! Not even a glass of water was offered never mind a tea.

She also requested a quote to clean 350sqm of patio which she wanted done yesterday (she hadn't paid a penny for the roof at this point) and told me to reconsider 'my offer' as she knows how long it would take.. ::)roll

Phoned her yesterday requesting immediate payment as she agreed to pay online on Friday and I stated that I wouldn't consider carrying out any further work until payment was showing in my account.... she spat the dummy out and hung up!

The run is behind and I've got the usual Christmas/summer holiday slow payers to sort out but I'm looking forward to an easy stress free week with my trusty SLX-22.   :)

Nice, did you work off scaffold ?

As Ian stated, for that size we would normally have 20% upfront plus the cost of high access  hire

I don't charge day rates just quote and if it takes longer or quicker it's the same price. As it took longer she then calculated the daily rate and thought she could tell me what I would be cleaning the patio for.

Everyone else has been delighted with the work carried out where as she was trying to nit pick the whole time.

Tried to work from it with the telescopic lance but that quickly got bombed out. Used it mainly for access and worked from the roof ladder using a 12" fsc as I'm trying to minimize the mess.

Must admit I was nervous until the payment came through. One or two cancellations/postponements isn't good either.
Considering a £50.00 booking deposit and a % paid before work commences. I've got my own tower roof ladders etc but will be hiring a trailer at times which is paid upfront plus deposit.
Sometimes just get a bad feeling about people but would the above really change anything security wise?

for record ive never ripped anyone off ...

I dont work for the kind of customer that does not expect a professional company to ask for a deposit

Spot on, its the first bit of advice you will get on any of the rip off TV shows, don't pay until the works done.
Its a lot easier for the provider to chase the home owner for the money than for the home owner to get the deposit
back from a guy who has just driven away.
