You'll have to try to remember which way you have turned all the time and turn back the other way.

I twist it back a couple of times a day, even my eighteen foot pole does it - nightmare!
I don't know why it's so bad - maybe all hoses do it?

Dave, do you leave it connected to the main hose?

The best pole hose I've ever used came with my original Facelift carbon pole (Facelift- as in before WCW bought them out) it was fantastic, never kinked, very supple, only problem it was black in colour- a bit dodgy these days with trip hazards etc.

;D I've bought 100m of this particular hose for my stock. One pole is eighteen feet long the other is thirty feet long. One stays connected to the reel hose all the time (30') the other doesn't. Both are hopeless for twisting. Hence I'm rather annoyed knowing the rest of my stock supply will be the same.

Mine's pretty much the same on a daily basis. I find it gets worse with age, pretty good when new then goes downhill as it gets older.

i use orange aqua-daptor hose.what i do dave is every hour or so during my working day i disconnect it from the hose reel and straighten it out.the pressure in the hose when connected doesnt help with twisting pole hose after you ve done an hours poling or so.

i find doing this  helps keep the hose pretty much kink free.i might get the odd kink but it doesnt drive me nuts!i have a few metres sticking out the end as well even when fully extended as the extra length comes in handy when im using the backpack for the odd awkward job. :)

i really dont have a problem with pole hose twisting too much.when it does its water off a ducks back!its hardly a major stress is it?

i get my microbore caught on things and twisting a lot more than my pole hose!again i dont let it bother me!i used to but that was years ago when i first started with WFP.

steady, brisk and measured is how i go about my working day these days. ;D

I used the yellow stuff for a short while and got rid of it. I use Aquadapter orange pole hose (on my extreme 25) and 50m of Aquadaptor red pole hose on my reel. I want the lightest setup possible and it works for me. I can reel in using two fingers! The red doesn't coil up as much as you'd think and when it does tangle a bit you just give it a shake. (wait for it!)
The orange is OK and like Daz says you just have to straighten it now and again. I find that if you relax with it (and don't get annoyed with it, it helps). I once pulled it really hard in frustration (not professional I know) and pulled the whole hose reel out the back of the van and into the road. It's secured with pipe clips. Good advert for the durability of the red hose I thought and lesson learned. Having said that I have some old gardiners yellow hose on my slx 18. The tap is attached to the pole via cable ties so I have an 18' loop. Funnily enough, never have a single problem, either with the loop itself, or the hose. A very chilled out pole to use. I think X-line do a pole hose that looks pretty good. Has anyone used it? Yes i'm on white wine no. 2  ;D

I'm different to many - I won't put up with rubbish basically. If it's not doing what it's supposed to do then I'll bin it and try something else. Most things are ok at the moment - poles are pretty good brushes aren't too bad but pole hose is still crap, don't see why I should struggle with it if there is an alternative.

When you extend a pole to forty feet and the knot of hose jams in the butt and yanks the hose out of the brush connection the last thing I'm thinking about is having a laugh and a giggle.

pole hose complaints seem to be one of the most common probs on here  so mebbe people should get gardiners to restock this old yellow stuff & give it another try  ive been using it for 4 years & its quality stuff, ive had samples of other stuff & its all crap compared to it
its easy to nip, its very easy to straighten

I have to admit I agree with Dave. Whilst I don't get overly annoyed at it, I do find it very odd that we have the best, lightest, most rigid carbon fibre poles ever.  A huge range of ultra light brushes that you need a degree in to get the jist of. Pole taps, aqua taps, aqua daptors and so on. The one single thing that cost me the most time during the day is pole hose. It's not a lot but it's enough to make a difference. I use 50m of pole hose on my reel and various amounts on my poles. I would pay hundreds of pounds for a top notch pole hose and I would recoup that money in a few months. To me...the weakest link in our 'SWOT analysis cleaning chain' is the hose. Over to you Alex  ;D
