gardiners backpack battery

hi.....charged battery on V1 backpack fully last night,  using today with 3 green lights and within 5 mins was bleeping with red light?  is a replacement battery called for?  or is there any checks i can do?

I think the people that sell car batteries, and exhausts can test them.

Hi Tony, do you have the means to test the voltage. If you can test it whilst under load (pumping water) you want to see it holding 12v or just over. If it drops off significantly as soon as it comes under load then the battery needs replacing. This is how I check my trolley batteries when they stop performing properly.

Remove the battery and charge it with a smart charger as it will often recondition the battery. I repaired three of my old backpak batteries this way.

Have you got a smart charger Tony? I use one of the Ctek chargers for my trolley now. If you haven't got a smart charger you can try hooking it up to mine over the weekend if you like to see if it makes a difference.

It's me yes. I stand to be corrected but I'd say that charger looks to be a bit hefty for your battery.  If you want to bring the battery round tomorrow evening I'll hook it up to the ctek.
