On my 4040 ro if i reduce the pure water production rate from 2 ltrs per min to 1 ltr per min will this reduce the tds reading without damaging the ro membrane  ???

Thanks Paul

I don't know how true this is but I was told by the guy who installed my system not to run the RO much higher than 50/50 pure to waste so it would depend on the ratio you would be running at to achieve this output.

I think it would wear the membrane down quicker yes

You have to ask yourself though, are going to get a low enough TDS than you're already getting to actually save yourself resin?
You may save a bag a year say, but if you have to get another membrane a year earlier than you would have, then you technically haven't saved anything in the long run

From what i gather, the general consensus is a 60/40 ratio, waste/pure
