Franchising
« on: June 22, 2015, 10:06:53 am »
Best move I have made to grow my business and secure a steady income for doing very little.

Off out this morning, with potentially the 3rd franchisee. fingers crossed he like it, as I can't wait to get another on board.

Happy Monday people  ;D

More importantly, how did you recruit the franchisee?

Pressgang. If it worked for the navy it will work for window cleaning.

I like that idea Tom  ;D

Natural growth, through website, word of mouth and leaflets.

Going to get the first 3 to bursting point or an income they're very happy with. Take on a fourth, grow him/her till they're happy, then split the rest of my round in 2 to take on 5&6 and come off the glass.

This will give me a comfortable income and allow me to grow the franchise business to its full potential.

Sunshine,

If you don't mind me asking what amounts of work have you started your franchisees off with?

The first 2,  I started at the same time on just over £2.5k monthly each.

The 3rd will start on £2k, as i don't quite have enough work to comfortably give him any more.

The first 2 started on Feb 9th and have grown considerably already. Hoping to have 4 with a good level of income by the end of the year.

Thanks Sunshine

I recently sacked my son and have been doing his round myself.

I happened to mention to a customer who is leaving army soon and was looking for a job that I would maybe consider franchising out this round, which consists of £750 of weekly work.

I just wasn't sure if that was enough to launch a franchise, but going by your starting figures it's more than enough to get him going.

Can I also ask what your franchisee gets for his initial purchase fee? I do realise I'm gonna have to purchase Ian lancasters plan, before I take it to next stage  ;)

Be very difficult to get anyone remotely interested in the south with that kind of income, you would struggle to live down here with that turnover unless your lucky enough to have your morgage paid off etc. £25k down here you'd struggle to get any interest with a buyer

Ah but fortunately I'm not in the South, I'm in Scotland, land of low prices and lousy window cleaners.  ;D

I agree, however that £25k is their start off turnover - straight away they will have that income coming in, which will be built up to their desired income level. I'm in the South and wish I started straight away on £2.5k a month! If they were to start up on their own with nothing and no idea, it would take them quite a while to have £2.5k a month regularly. Some franchisees start off with no work at all.

Who in there right mind is going to lay out £££££s to earn back £600 odd pound a week on probably average work, these kind of franchises normally have very average work. I know WCS that have had a canvasser working for them and the canvasser takes anything from a one bed flat and calls that a job, someone said that work might be able to be done in 2 days,if I was buying it that's what I'd expect

I can assure you NWH we don't take on average work, just for the sake of filling the books. I'd happily take on a one bed flat though, at the right price.
