It must be the heat...
« on: June 18, 2015, 07:18:59 pm »
...custy phoned me tonight and she asked when I was due to go round again. (second clean)
I told her Monday and she said she would like to be in when I come.
Oh why is that I ask.
She said she doesn't want me to leave the gate open because her TORTOISE WILL GET OUT!  (seriously)
Now I don't know what anyone else thinks about that but my only thought was
'how bloody slow must I be at wfp that her tortoise will whizz past me and make a dash for the gate!'
I need another look at that wfp video.  ;D

you will be surprised how quick a tortoise is, I have one on my round that almost runs across the garden to attack my boots.

I've one customer whose tortoise makes a dash for the pole hose and it's surprising how quick they can move compared to the speed they normally go at.

When I first did the place I ignored the tortoise going for the pole hose. It managed to bite right or rather 'gum' right through it.

Now I take a foot or so of old pole hose and give it to the tortoise straight away and it goes for it like a good 'un. The only problem is when I don't know where it is in the garden and suddenly realise a few minutes later it's chomping at the hose I'm using.

I never realised how expensive they are to buy and that the supplier is supposed to check out that you're going to look after it properly.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

A tortoise sanctuary? I wonder how many shell out to support that sort of charity?
It's a game of three halves!
