Hi thanks for looking,I'm normally on the window cleaning forum but need help with a worktop problem
Recent.y had silestone Quartz ,mirror black worktops fitted in my house.
Where we boil the kettle ,I have moticed marks that look like water droplet marks,on the surface of the worktop.,I live in a hard water area and thought it may be the calcium in the water,when's pillages have dried.
We were told by the supplier to clean with cif liquid,but it won't shift it.
When I rub the top of the worktop over the marks it feels smooth,meaning I can't feel any deposits on the surface.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Kevin have rubbed part of the mark /stain with natural lemon juice,no change to appearance,top also feels smooth as if mark is under surface.

Hi Kevin consetina sent local rep and a Spanish guy to look at work top,they tried to clean top with spay water,cif cleaner,white vinegar,but marks were not removed.
The Spanish so called technical guy,now feels the marks are in the resin,due to top is smooth and no damage can be felt,they also did ahead test using a wax crayon,,no heat damage to top.
They are now sending a report to Spain to see what they suggest,
The good news is it's not something we've done,
They are hoping the factory can tell them how to remove marks,if they cannot be removed,top will be replaced.
Do you have any thoughts on the above ?  I will keep you posted

hi Kevin latest from consentina  the cutting board was sent to Spain they are now saying its a chemical attack,I can only assume that my wife has over sprayed a cleaning product and has not wiped up the residue,allowing the chemical to dwell on the work top surface.
If I put acetone on the worktop will this damage the surface ? I appreciate it has to be quite aggressive as it has to,penetrate the surface,will it leave a dull patch ? Do I just put a small amount on a piece of cotton wool and just rub the spot ? If yes how long and how hard ? I assume then wash off with soapy water

Very strange that they think it is an acid etch that was my first thought without samples sent to Spain but you said the Lemon Juice did no damage yet Lemon juice is citric acid and usually etches.  Call me on 07770 598855 because we need to talk

Hi Kevin,good news,worktop is going to be replaced,not by costed a,but by the  person that supplied it to me,I think he feels embarrassed as he knows me,.
