fitting tank to VW Transporter

Im looking at buying a VW transporter T32, Whats involved in fitting a tank to one of these, Does the fuel tank have to be removed?

No I have a 500litre tank in one and the tanks didn't need dropping out.

the guys at my local garage had to drop the fuel tank and exhaust to fit my frame for my 500L tank!(transit connect though,not a transporter!)
they charged me £100 but i gave them an extra tenner for the extra faffing about.
my local garage is worth its weight in gold!cracking lads.ive been taking all my cars and vans there for 26 years!
