There's a LOT you could do for that website..... Here's what I would recommend:
1. Anything hosted on webs.com servers is at a disadvantage because Google sees it (and Wix/Vistaprint etc) as a place where people go for hobby websites & doesn't give it the same importance as other proper hosting providers. I would suggest immediately switching to a different provider. I use
www.tsohost.com2. The ".webs.com" subdomain will be lost if you move, but that's not a bad thing because it instantly damages your Google ranking - buy a domain (only about £8 a year) from TSO as well when you get the hosting.
3. Your current website isn't mobile friendly, and Google made changes recently which means non-mobile websites have lost a lot of traffic. I'd recommend installing wordpress on your new hosting and choosing a responsive theme which is built from the ground up to be mobile friendly.
4. Before we get into SEO, you should consider visitor engagement. There's no point having millions of people browsing your site if none of them pick up the phone & book. Your site needs to catch attention and encourage people to take action - I'd recommend lots more photos (On every page - not just a gallery page) and simple navigation.
5. Always remember that on the internet you're not selling a window cleaning service - you're selling YOURSELF as a service provider, so include photos of you, and concentrate on what makes you stand out from the competition.
6. Stock photos do not sell, nor do generic photos of shiny glass. Really good before & after pics are good - but what's best are photos of you "one the glass" looking smart & professional, but actually doing the job. Getting the photos right can double the amount of phone calls a website generates.
7. Perspective is important when writing the text. You shouldn't write "what I want to tell the customer",.. you should always write "what the customer wants to know" - and these can be two completely different things. The customer usually doesn't care about the stages of water purification of the brand of poles you use - instead focus on the quality of your workmanship and the results,.. maybe even offer a satisfaction guarantee...
8. Your current site has 6 pages, but only one small page about the services you offer - I'd recommend having a separate page for window cleaning, gutter unblocking, conservatory cleaning, fascia & soffit cleaning etc etc - one page for each service with a few pictures on each of those pages showing you undertaking the job.
9. Make it easy for people to get in touch - display your phone numbers in both the header and footer of EVERY page!
10. If you have Facebook, Google+ or Twitter accounts for your business then link them to the website - possibly setup a feed widget so website visitors can see the latest news from your social media.
11. Once you've got your new domain setup, add the link to ALL your forum & e-mail signatures
12. A FAQ page can be great for SEO as it will automatically contain a lot of relevant keywords - testimonials pages can also be good.
13. Adding a blog to the website and updating it regularly can work wonders for SEO.
14. Think about what potential customers are going to type into Google when searching for you and make a list of potential words & phrases - - then as a few friends who aren't window cleaners to do the same. Combine these lists & you'll get a good idea of what your "keywords" for the site should be. Research these words and phrases on the "Google keyword planner" to see which are searched most often in your area & then use these in your titles, tags, on-page text, image tags, meta descriptions etc etc.
15. NEVER have duplicate tags - each one must be unique. Google hates duplication.
16. NEVER copy & paste content from other websites (you can reuse content from the same domain OK) as Google hates plagiarism.
17. High quality, unique & relevant content is key to Google ranking - if you don't have enough of this then you'll struggle to get ranked no matter what you do. I recommend an absolute minimum of 6 pages (8 or 10 is better) for a website and min 200 words per page.
18. Don't forget geographic tags! Most people search for "window cleaner (insert town name)" - if you have all your service related keywords but don't list geographic keywords enough then your SEO will be diluted and your site will be appearing in searches for the other end of the country (on page 234 probably!) - but by listing the top 10 or 12 towns/villages/areas you work in on a few of the pages you can make sure you appear in local searches & are only competing for Google ranking with a couple of hundred local companies instead of 50,000 companies nationally!
That's some of the basics - - with a bit of work you could definitely get your site ranking decently though.
