gardiners back pack users
« on: June 04, 2015, 08:36:52 am »
Hi.
Just got the gardeners back pack.
1st impressions very good.

Problem I have is with the battery life charged for 6 hours.

Used for 2 hours last Thursday then battery indicator showing charge almost empty.

Charged last night for 4.5 hours not alot of time granted but battery indicator on battery displaying almost empty.

Only thing I can think of is when I plugged charger into wall it was via a double plug would this affect charging?

Only disappointing thing is charger and adapter plug look a bit cheap, especially the adapter plug that changes 2 pin charger into a 3 pin plug, the top pin on this swivels ::)roll
Are they all like this?
Thanks lee

I think a good 10-12 hour charge is really needed, especially early on.

Think on first charge you wait til it shows fully charged the give it another few hours charge . Instructions are on back of what looks like a compliments slip

When you turn it off at the switch. You then also need to turn the metal numpty anticlockwise until it clicks. I found this out the hard way. Couldn't figure out why it was always flat.

I mine every day, all day.
First charge was over twelve hours then I charge overnight after use.
I have done two days work on one charge when I forgot to put it on after day one.
All backpacks need a decent time chsrging and overnight is ideal.
Whats the metal numpty, the flow regulator?  Never touched mine, always use it on full.

Sounds like your battery might be goosed.

Paulben.
When charger connected to and switched on red for short period then goes green.

I know what your saying hour charger is green but once it's synced with backpack it stays red probably til 90% charged, senses battery low.

Defoe think. Knackered charger.
Alex is out of office til Monday, sent him email.

Forgot to say put backpack on charge through the night, had 12 hours
Battery indicator on backpack not moved a dot. ::)roll

Do like backpack for brief time I've used it.
Anyone else had issues?
Thank lee

Actually Lee, thinking back I did have a charging problem when it arrived. I'd forgotton but it wouldnt charge like yours. Gardiners were brilliant, sent out a new charger. No change. I checked the connections and one had been soldered wrong.
Gardiners agreed for me to attempt a fix without affecting the warranty and hehho all fixed ok
It might be worth unscrewing the body and just checking the connections.
Hope this helps.
Chris.

Thanks Chris.
Just had an email from Cassie at Gardiners.
Even though Alex is on hols he's advised that a new charger be sent out first class.
Brilliant :)
Sure that's it.
Things go wrong but its how there dealt with.
Shame Gardiners don't sell everything I use for work.
Thanks everyone.
Lee

Hope that works for you Lee.
Gardiners are good at service.
If the new charger dosent work have a peep in the backpack body behind where you plug the charger into and check the connections.
All the best.
