Well

I bought mine not so long ago, had major problems with it,  could not get the controller to calabirate.

Spoke to Phil who promised to replace controller ............. Still waiting,  👎

I am having to run it from van battery now with a switch

Vyair customer service 0/10

Don't get me wrong the flow is fantastic as it's running at full, but .............

There has been a couple of times that the pump has just cut out and won't come back on for say 10 mins ??

I did want 4 of these pumps but not sure am going to bother with them.

Any suggestions and any other pump suppliers that do 10 lpm as vyair for me is a no no.

Must admit I haven't had to call customer service more than twice, all good
Between us, me and my two sons have 3 Vyair pumps, apart from the odd pressure switch,  all are good 5 years and counting.

Heat can only be generated at the tip of the carbon brush if there is an electrical fault on one of the armature windings or if the brush hasn't been sitting firmly on the commutator. The brush could have stuck in the brush holder and as the brush wears away it will leave a gap between itself and the commutator. Current will arch across that gap and heat will be generated - a similar situation to welding.

A photo of the other brush and commutator may have also helped, but you weren't to know that.

You may also find a slightly raised commutator segment if you look hard enough which will indicate a winding fault. In any case, it will need a new armature, brushes, springs and rear brush holder/end cap to get it working again.

As I doubt they carry those kind of spares, it will be a replacement pump.

You can see the other brush holder in the photo

Yes spruce. You certainly know your stuff.

When things brake I have to replace as I haven't an igloo how to solve pump brake downs or other bits.

Can't go wrong with shurflo, don't why some take a chance with such a crucial piece of kit- what do you save, a tenner?

I paid £140 for pump and controller, it has nothing to do with saving I wanted a higher flo rate

Looked for a shurflo 10 lpm couldn't find one.

Put a link or web up for me please as am really concerned about the longevity of this pump. Plays up every time it's on for more than half hour or so, some days I need it to run for 8 hours solid

Just looked & not sure it's suitable for our needs. I can't believe you can't get enough flow from a 7 lpm 100 psi pump, you must have some serious resistance in your system or are you running two poles from one pump? Mine is only set to number two on the varistream & it's a really nice flow. If I turned mine up to full I'd be able to wash windows in the next village with it!!

With 7 lpm version of this pump through 6mm microbore I never achieved more than 4lpm and around 5.8lpm via minibore.

How many litres per hour is this one - can't read the label?

http://www.surecleansystems.com/?product=shurflo-100psi-pump#product_images[grouped]/0/

I never get that much flow to be honest. What I have done is use 8mm barbs on all fittings and stretched the hose over them to try and use the biggest orifices I can. My controller is always on at least 9 which is almost max on an analogue one.

Why would you want to? That's 480ltrs in two hours at your "minimum"! What are you cleaning, the QE2?? :o :o What are your brush jets made from- drain pipes? ;D

Dave the one in the link is 1.4gpm or 6.3lpm in metric.

ChemBucket - had to do nearly 3500sqm of  glass roofs. with higher flow it was quicker and more efficient do final rinse. Flow rates stated are maximum -it doesnt necessary mean i have to have use the pump at highest setting.

I am using 8mm hose and I didn't bother with 7lpm just wanted the 12 but vyair said hose was to thin and to get 7 or 10.
I need the high flo rate

I only do commercial and similar to above post I have a roof to clean in a few weeks that's on a big scale,

I will get round to measuring my flow in lpm one day, I'm intrigued that you boys can't get a high enough flow rate with your normal pumps. Even on work like in the picture I still couldn't have mine on full.
