Of course.

Why wouldn't you?

Relationship soured plus I wouldn't trust them not to do it again.  Also I suppose a bit of revenge comes into it.

surely this is a wind up?its entirely up to the customer whether they use your services or not!they might of lost their job and have money issues.

obviously if they were bad payers/messers beforehand i wouldnt take them back on but other than that no problem.

price higher/work harder!

Assess each scenario on its own individual and unique merits. There is no one answer that suits all situations.

If you don't lose money out of it then why wouldn't you?

Do you think Tesco's refuse customers who went else where for special deals the week before?

One customer we took back 4 times, she now uses some trad guy now anyway.

Never lost money out of it tho.

In general people cancel for 3 reasons:

1. They think they don't need their windows cleaned any more.

2. Money.

3. You.

If it's 1, they now realise that they do. If it's 2 they've either now got money or the cheaper cleaner turned out to be hopeless.

Neither of those reasons should stop you going back, in fact they will, in all likelihood, be very loyal in future.

If it's 3 they won't be asking you back anyway.

For me once we've parted company the relationship is over and I move on.  Maybe I'm wrong but it's the way I work.

of course I put her back on,  why wouldn't I?

Depends.  If they've been a messer for some reason then probably not.
Over the years a number of customers have cancelled after losing their jobs.  They get a new job and phone me to restart.  If they were OK before then I see no problem.
One thing though.  I don't put up prices often enough.  If they want me back, I usually re-quote as if it's a new job.

I would too, assuming she was an okay customer beforehand. This situation has done one thing, it's confirmed to her that there are competent cleaners and amateurs and for you you're in the competent bracket.

It would be immature to turn her away based on a bruised ego.
