Need to buy some second hand equipment
« on: May 25, 2015, 02:00:45 pm »
Hi Guys, I am planning to install a two man system in my van. I am on a budget and am in need of some second hand equipment. Can anyone help with the list below or let me in on some of the good deals that may be out there.  Thanking you all in advance for any help.

500 ltr - 800 litre baffled tank
reel and hose
Any good deals on gutter vacs and poles ????

I also want to convert to a hot water system but don't ever envisage me having the cash to invest ina  new one. Can anyone advise me on how i could convert my current system into a hot water one safely.

thank you, all advice and help really appreciated

If your are on a budget scrap the hot water idea.

What van have you got?

In all honesty for a 2 man system you need something with a payload of around 1300 to 1500 if you plan to have 2 men and their gear working from it.  A 500l tank full of water won't last the day with 2 men using it - an 800 liter tank will be best although a 650 liter does the 2 of us most days - only because I'm unable to work for the full day.  My son in law polishes off about 500 liters every day on his own.

If you are going to include a Gutter Vac then you will be looking at a  MWB or LWB van IMHO. If you want a decent vacuum cleaner with 3 motors then you really need a 5.5kva generator to run it. Some however use customer's power on 2 motors but this isn't always ideal.
If you don't do many gutter cleans then forget the gutter vac for the meantime and focus on expanding your core window cleaning business.
