Buisines of private mobile contract

What do you do as regards mobile phone contracts. Its a tax mind field.
Apparently you have to use a business contract or it cant be claimed back and can be subject to all sorts of tax problems.
I don't want 2 contracts when I will get unlimited mins etc. Read this

Abbott cites an example: “Let’s say a contractor has a personal mobile phone costing £30 a month with an inclusive calls allowance, and they work out from their itemised bill that they have used half the call allowance for business purposes. Logic would suggest that they could claim half the monthly line rental as a business expense. But that’s not the case.”

He continues: “HMRC’s expenses rules always consider the ‘marginal cost’, or additional costs, of what an employee incurs in the performance of their duties. Duncan.

Go get yourself a top phone, regardless of cost, set your payments up to come out of your business account and that's the end of it.
The phone belongs to the company and the full amount is claimed back, even if it's just in the name of Duncan h.

You will still have to pay the bill tho if you decide to wind your company up haha  ;D

It's very, very, very simple. You just apportion the difference between business & personal use if you have one phone/contract. Do this reasonably & there will be no issue. If you're stupid you will have two phones/contracts.

This is what I have always done in the past. I checked Tax website on new rules. They say NOT. Balls if you ask me. I will get one in my personal name and take it out of my business account regardless
