Magazine advertising
« on: April 25, 2015, 10:41:06 am »
Right guys. Got a good deal with a local magazine to advertise and maybe looking into parish magazines also. Anyway i want to put a special offer on the advert. Any ideas? I don't want to say first clean half price in case you get the time wasters who just use you for the one clean. Maybe 25% of second clean? or 50% of third clean? I haven't got a clue. What ideas has anyone got? :-)

The best way offer a third clean with a 10% and the 6th clean at half price if committed to a years cleaning. Up your price by 10% over the year and it will cost you nothing.

Don't want to P on your parade, but we've tried all sorts of advertising including these monthly local ad mags, golf club brochures, doctors surgery calendars etc etc.  Never had a single enquiry so made a rule never to get excited about them again and decline any offers, firmly but politely.

Only advertising that ever worked was in local parish magazines and even this has dwindled to almost nothing over the past few years.  If it wasn't so cheap these would have been given the elbow too!

To be effective it has to be front page.

Ok thanks for comments guys. A Customer of mine does Tv/aerial installations and says about 80% of his business comes from this magazine. Yes it's a completely different line of work but it's worth a go. Only have to sign up for 4 months and about the monthly cost of using the telemarketing companies(which have not generated good results). Trial and error i guess :-)

Same with me. Only advertise in the spring and summer magazines and get a decent number of £50+ country houses from it. Also a fair amount of one-off jobs too.

I think leaflets are a waste of time...
