Getting fed up with the same old story of houses getting missed as they don't pay by bank transfer so I've added PayPal to my site to encourage the cave men/women to pay online. The problem I have is I've added 7 pay buttons each with 10 options as I can't get an amount chosen by the payer. If someone has the html code would it be possible for others to copy and paste it?
Below is my payment page, just doesn't look right

Surely you just need a Pay Now button and the customer enters the amount it is a simple as that .

But its not what you need is GoCardless , As PayPal will not sort out the slow payers i had maybe 6-7 jobs using PayPal i have over 50 custys on CG and getting more custys signed up every week .

I know what you mean regarding PayPal and slow payers but if it gets a certain few customers paying then it's better than dropping them. It's down to what their comfortable with  whether it's cash on the day (only), posting a cheque, bank transfer or PayPal.
I've seen a look of horror from customers when I spoke about gocardless as being the way forward for many professionals. A lot of this work is new to my round having bought it one year ago I've only been cleaning it myself since August/September so it's still a work in progress.

When you create the button in your paypal account, leave the amount field empty - this will create a button where the custie can enter the amount to be paid.

I fully appreciate your position BUT YOU NEED PAYING customers have to be brought into line they need to appreciate that you driving back and forth trying to collect while they sit at home and not giving you a thought does'nt help you paying your bills .

Doubt they could walk out of a shop or employ a builder and get away with not paying until they remember or feel like it .

If they are so horrified by Direct Debit then if they are and have no money , You need a way of taking card payments its your money mate . 

You have a good professional looking website you need consistency through and through if you dont you are losing money anyway whether skipping jobs because of bad debt or binning bad payers either way you need to cut your losses .

Better the situation to favour yourself rather than lazy customers who dont give a ****  about you .

Right for a start GC is free for you to set up. By not having it, how do you know some of your customers don't want to pay via direct debit. How about new customers? it's silly to NOT offer it imho. It's a tool.

That was your opportunity to hit em there with GC.

Its 1% it's nothing.

Very true Mike. Lazy and inconsiderate customers is what bugs me. I'm not in a knocking back work just now but there is only so much a one man band can do and I'm not prepared to take a chance with employing, so I'll take your advice on board.

Didn't know gc was only 1% 90% of new customers are told bank transfer only, with the others they are mostly in during the day or down to me being sloppy. For the business to improve I've got to get payments and my non ranking SEO up to speed. I'll check out your link tomorrow.
