microfiber cloths

hi guys quick question on microfibre cloths as i just cannot seem to get on with them maybe i using them incorrectly.

how do you guys use them do you use them like a scrim to clean windows one damp the other to buff off or do you just use one that's damp and leave to dry
do you use none detergent water on them or do you use detergent.
i just cannot seem to get streak free finish

If trading which is rare now I only use them to detail until such point they become damp.
When using for internal cleans we use slighty damp to clean with vinegar solution and dry to buff.

There are different types of MICROFIBRE cloth,  terry weave, flat weave, waffle etc.. Some I can use some not, I hate flat weave personally, plus get heavy weighted brands not cheapo lightweight ones

Wash but do not use softener

But any will do if they are 280 gsm or above

Thank you the yellow ones from ebay have you used them and if so what is it like for fibres coming off on to the glass
also how do you wash these by hand or in the washing machine and if so at what temp

I've had blue and green from this seller, no shedding at all.

Machine wash, 60 deg short cycle, small amount of powder no softener, tumble dry

I always use the yellow microfibres cloths for wiping frames and sills then use clean and green blue cloths to wipe edges or any soap suds left.they are really good for ledded windows too.
Both these items are from soap Natiaonl won't find them much cheaper anywhere

I take it you use these for scrims? How do they leave the edges as I use the green unger ones at the moment and work good but tried some blue ones and they just leave marks on the window whenever you use them even after washing them and using them loads.i might try you suggestion if they are good.

the same blue cloth is in wilko`s for 3quid (large) exactly the same in every detail that i brought from one of the main cleaning suppliers . i only use blue cloths but still have a few scrims when  fancy a change.

Yes Wayne, we use them as if they were scrims. Great for detailing or just using with a spray bottle.

When I wash them I only use a very small amount of detergent and some soda crystals and let them dry naturally.

I use the Paragon fishscale cloths too. Had them for a year now and they are excellent. I have found that sometimes they can leave marks along the edges, but usually only when I rub the glass too hard, the rubber beading is old or contaminated in some way, or when the sun is beating down on the glass. But they don't shed, and with a little care I get an excellent finish with them.

i get my micro's from wilko there £3 each i cut them in half as there big there very good cloths i hated micro's till i tryed these

Second the Paragon fish scale microfibre, we has also used them for years. Worth the extra cost.  :)
